About

Thomas Jefferson once said that “The cornerstone of democracy rests on the foundation of an informed electorate.” Centuries have passed since his time and it still rings true. A society benefits when its citizens are well-informed about the world around them.

Unfortunately, many people in the United States and around the world do not understand the complicated and nuanced society which exists all around us. Many are misinformed in particular about the political and economic systems which form our society and influence every aspect of our lives. Many more remain disengaged from civic participation. This is especially apparent in the United States, where a third of the voting-age population did not bother to vote in the last election.

The goal of this blog is to cut through the chaos of political rhetoric, partisanship, and propaganda and provide an unbiased platform for people to examine topical issues with a clear lens. In order for society to keep advancing forward, its citizens must remain informed and have insight about the world around us. This blog hopes to equip you with the facts necessary for you to form your own opinions that will inform you in your decision-making.
